Pythian International Heading

Supreme Chief

Sheila A Stooksberry Supreme ChiefWhat an honor it is being installed Supreme Chief of the Pythian Sisters. This is the first time that Ohio has had a Supreme Chief since Anna Young in 1908.
I am really looking forward to visiting Pythian Sisters in as many States and Provinces as possible. This fall, I am visiting the Maritime Provinces, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Oregon.
Our most important project these two years will be Membership. At the rate we are losing members, if we don’t make a conscious attempt to take in new members, we will become extinct. That is why I have chosen the Panda Bear to represent our decline in membership. During the last two years, our membership has dropped about 1,000 Sisters. Meanwhile, the Pandas have been increasing in number. Our Order has a lot to offer especially the fellowship and lasting friendships. We can now start a new Temple with 10 ladies.
Our next project is Volunteerism. Our goal is to have the Pythians volunteer over 2 MILLION HOURS. Those who give of their time helping others more than 100 hours will get a certificate to recognize their efforts.
The Pythian Sister Tidings is being resurrected and I encourage the Temples to send in articles of their activities to their state chairmen. We have two Sisters who have volunteered to work together with my National chairperson to publish a newsletter for each subordinate Temple.
Last, but by no means last, is Ways and Means. We are currently selling Angel pins and Pythian Sister magnetic ribbons for your car. They each sell for $5.00. If your state/province doesn’t already have some, please contact our Supreme Junior Audrey Wetterwald.
I look forward to visiting as many Pythian Sisters as possible during these next two years. Remember Pythians Are Friends Forever.
