Sir Jordan Levy
Jordan
Levy joined Harmony Lodge #709, New York, in 1972. He served as
Financial Secretary and Editor, after which he went up the chairs
and was elected Chancellor Commander in 1984. He was appointed DGC
representing the 50th District in 1995, and ACDGC in 1996. He was
elected GOG in 1997, ascending to Grand Chancellor in 2002. Supreme
Chancellor David Mead appointed Jordan Deputy Supreme Chancellor
serving from 2006-2008. At the Grand Lodge Convention of 2009,
Jordan was elected Supreme Representative. He is Secretary of
Pythian Camp and the Smoller Fund, and Vice President of the
Diabetes Association, as well as serving on many other Grand Lodge
committees. In 1991 he received the Golden Spur.
Jordan is retired from JP Morgan Chase and Banco Popular. He also
was a Bank Examiner with the New York State Banking Department.
Jordan was involved in many community activities. He served as
President and Director of the Flatbush Kiwanis Club; President and
Director of the Flatbush and Nostrand Chamber of Commerce; Director
of Flatbush Boys Club; Flatbush YMCA ( Man of the year 1992);
Brooklyn Civic Council; Flatbush Historical and Cultural Society,
and the Neighborhood Housing Services of East Flatbush, serving as
the Chairman of the Loan Committee.
In 1974 Jordan was Master of Pioneer Mount Moriah Lodge #20 F. & A.
M, and served as Trustee for 10 years, and also Trustee of the
Pioneer Foundation Inc. Jordan is Past President of the Flatbush
Park Jewish Center, where he served on the Board as Treasurer.
Jordan and his lovely wife Janet ( Supreme Rep of Grand Temple #15,
and a member of Keystone Sutter Temple) reside in the Mill Basin
Section of Brooklyn. They have two sons, Marc, married to Val, and
Andrew, married to Debra.
