Dan Cowan
Dan
Cowan and his wife Annette have been married for 25 years and
are residents of Los Angeles California. They have two children,
daughter Jenny and son Jacob. Dan, who is 44 years old, has been
a member of the order for 21 years, having joined Beverly Hills
Lodge in 1987. After serving in every station in his lodge he
was elected to the Grand Lodge of California in 1992. He served
as Grand Chancellor in 1997. He is very active in the domain of
California serving as the parliamentarian, Grand Lodge Trustee,
and a member of the Grand Lodge Ritual Team performing many
Rathbone Bible Classes, both in California and the Western
United States. He instituted the Beverly Hills Book Donating
program and received the Degree of the Golden Spur in 2000. Dan
served as Deputy Supreme Chancellor in 1999 and was elected to
the Supreme Council in 2000. As a member of the Supreme Council
he has served as chairman of the Junior Order and a member of
the Membership Committee. Dan’s activities are not limited to
the Pythian Order. He is a member of the local school leadership
council, the chairman of the school site committee, and
treasurer of the Westchester High School PTSA. He is a retired
member of the Young Executive Forum Industrial Distributors
Association and a leader in Cub Scout Pack #793. Sports are a
big part of his life. He is a board member of the Westchester
Little League, and serves as Chief Umpire and Umpire
Coordinator. He serves as an advisor at the Westchester YMCA and
is a member of the Culver City Police Departments Volunteer
Patrol.
